Expert (magazine)

Expert (Russian Эксперт ) is a business magazine from Russia. It is published weekly with a circulation of 85,000 copies. The editorial office is Moscow.

History and Ownership

The magazine Expert was founded in 1995 by former editors of the Russian business newspaper Kommersant; funded the creation of billionaire Vladimir Potanin Olegovich. At the foundation Potanin left a large part of the shares of the editors. In 2004 the publishing house Expert Potanin bought from 41.5 percent of the shares and was from then on the magazine out by itself. Today, the editorial is about the ownership of a majority owner of the publishing house.

In December 2006, the Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska has bought an equity stake the publisher of the controlled company he RAIiKo, so he can block decisions. The publisher wants Expert together with Deripaska its business in business media expand, including through expansion into the TV and the Internet industry.
