Exposures – In Retrospect and Denial

Exposures - In Retrospect and Denial is a music album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was released in 2004 on Century Media.

Formation

With this compilation, the band wanted to celebrate her 15th birthday and to thank the fans for their support. According to the guitarist Niklas Sundin, the musicians have been regularly approached by fans to publish the old demo recordings on CD. The band had decided to add the Japan bonus tracks and unreleased songs. Exposures - In Retrospect and Denial was released as a double CD for the price of a CD. The old DAT tapes Sundin found in his parents' house.

The first CD is a compilation of rare and partly unreleased songs. The first two titles were taken during the recording of the album Damage Done. Here are two songs that were taken during the recording of the album Haven. The songs six and seven were recorded for the album Projector. The title eight and nine and ten to twelve were previously released on the EP A Reflection Moonclad or Demo A Trail of Life Decayed.

The second CD is the soundtrack published under the title Live Damage DVD, which appeared in 2003. Was recorded a concert of 7 October 2002 in the Polish city of Krakow. The second CD was produced by Fredrik Nordström and mastered by Göran Finnberg. The album cover was created by Niklas Sundin.

Reception

According to Tobias Blum of the German magazine Rock Hard, the band has the " digging in the archives of all the work done " and " a lot of interesting material to light promoted". During the live CD he raised the " absolute great set list " show. Reviewer "Metal Greg" by the online magazine Metal.de wondered in his review, " according to which criteria the band aussuche the songs for their albums". As an example, he cited the song exposure, which is " the complete, mostly lame album Projector in the shadows stelle".
