Extensor retinaculum of the hand
The extensor retinaculum is a ribbon-like structure on the back of the hand ( dorsal) near to the body ( proximal ) part of the wrist. It contains six subjects in the tendons of the extensor muscles ( extensors ) of the hand, along with their tendon sheaths. It is the counterpart of the transverse carpal ligament on the palm ( palmar) dar.
Its function is mainly in the mobile fixation of the tendons of the extensor muscles. This is a lifting of the tendons - like a drawn bow - during extension prevented.
