Eyes Set to Kill

Eyes Set to Kill is an American metalcore band from Phoenix (Arizona ). The band's name derives from a line of a poem by Alexia Rodriguez, she wrote in high school.

History

The band was founded in 2003 by sisters Alexia ( E-Gitarre/Keyboard ) and Anissa Rodriguez (bass ) founded with vocalist Lindsey Vogt. In 2004 the band signed a contract with Break Silence Recordings / Suburban Noize Records and released with Reach (2008), The World Outside (2009) and Broken Frames ( 2010) three albums. In summer 2007, Lindsey Vogt leave the band and began her solo project, The Taro Sound, then founded, however, the band The Attraction. After Vogt's departure, Alexia Rodriguez took over the vocals. The line-up changed frequently in the subsequent period.

On 12 October 2010, published under the pseudonym Alexia Rodriguez Lexia a solo album entitled Underground Sounds. The album contains newly written songs, played several new songs from Eyes Set to Kill, as well as a cover of British rock band Radiohead: Climbing Up the Walls.

The album White Lotus was released on 9 August 2011 and was the first album, which was released on the band's own label Forsee Records. The CD contains two acoustic cover: Doll Parts by Hole, and Polly by Nirvana.

Style

The band's music consists of both quiet slow passages, as well as from aggressive fast. More opposites here are gentle, clearly sung female vocals and guttural, aggressive song of a man's voice. Influences of bands like Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold are clearly audible. Eyes Set to Kill is mostly attributed to the post-hardcore, but because of the interplay between hard and soft passages often the screamo or emocore. Partial assigns you to the music and the alternative metal.
