Ezequiel Martínez Estrada

Ezequiel Martínez Estrada (born 14 September 1895 in San José de la Esqina, Santa Fe Province, † November 3, 1964 in Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires Province) was an Argentine writer.

Life

1915 Martínez Estrada got a job at the main post office in Buenos Aires ( Correo Central) and began at this time with his first literary attempts. In 1923 he was entrusted with a teaching literature at the Colegio Nacional in La Plata.

As the beginning of 1946 General Juan Perón was elected president elect of Argentina, Martínez Estrada was in protest at his university office. His day job at the post office - now in office of managing director - he also gave up and retired to a farm near Bahia Blanca.

At the instigation of the Mexican President Adolfo López Mateos Martínez Estrada took in 1960 as a professor of political science in Mexico City. From there he went the following year as director of the Centro Estudios Latinoamericanos to Havana ( Cuba). In the fall of 1963, he gave this office on also, and returned to his native Bahia Blanca. Martínez Estrada died seven weeks after his 69th birthday on 3 November 1964 in Bahía Blanca and found his final resting place.
