Ezra Fitch

Ezra Hasbrouck Fitch ( born September 21, 1865 in Coxsackie, New York, † June 16, 1930 in Santa Barbara, California ) was a New York lawyer and founded by David T. Abercrombie, the company Abercrombie & Fitch, which he as the sole owner of In 1907, until 1928.

Life

Ezra Hasbrouck Fitch was born on September 21, 1865 in Coxsackie in Greene County in the U.S. state of New York. He was the only child of Roswell Reed Fitch and Margaretta Wyanna Hasbrouck, who died shortly after his birth. Fitch spent his childhood on the family estate on the Hudson River in Coxsackie.

In 1894, Ezra Fitch was a lawyer degree at New York University and became a lawyer. In 1897 he married Sarah Huntington Sturges in Brooklyn, New York City.

As he got at Abercrombie, he was " restless and bored in his job ." He delighted in outdoor and spent sine leisure sailing, climbing and fishing with. When David Abercrombie Abercrombie Co. opened his business trip in 1892 was Fitch whose " most faithful customer ."

In 1900, Fitch bought a large part of the growing enterprise, and therefore became a partner of David Abercrombie; supposedly he had to convince Jack only. In 1904, Fitch's last name was registered in the company name as " Abercrombie & Fitch Co. " The company Fitch was an innovator, who claimed that "it can not be done " is not in his vocabulary was.
