FA Women's Premier League National Division

The FA Women's Premier League is the second highest division in the English women's football. It was founded in 1991. Prior to founding the FA WSL in 2011 the Premier League was the top division in English women's football.

The Premier League is divided into three leagues, the National Division is the highest league. Below it are the Northern Division and the Southern Division. A total of 36 teams playing in three leagues.

Structure of the League

The FA Women's Premier League has 36 teams, divided into three divisions of twelve teams. Highest League, within the FA Women's Premier League, the FA Women's Premier League National Division. Under the National Division, the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division and the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division obey. Although these two leagues containing the words " Premier League " is only the second- highest division.

Mode

Each team plays in the course of a season twice each against every other team; once at home and once away. The champion qualifies for the UEFA Women 's Cup, while the two worst teams in the second division must descend (FA Women's Premier League Northern Division and FA Women's Premier League Southern Division ).

The clubs in the Women's Premier League also participate in the FA Women's Cup and the Premier League Cup ( League Cup) part. The master of the Women's Premier League takes in the FA Women's Community Shield against the winner of the FA Women 's Cup.

Status of clubs

While there are many pure women's football clubs in the rest of Europe, most women's football teams in England are known from the part of the men's soccer clubs. In general, the name differs from only by the addition of an "L " ( for " Ladies", eg Arsenal LFC) from the name of the parent association.

Second League

Below the FA Women's Premier League National Division, the FA Women's Premier League Northern and Southern Division constitute the second- highest division in the English women's football. Both divisions consist of twelve clubs who play each other twice during the season. The division of the two divisions is based on a geographical basis. The master of the Northern and Southern Division will advance to the National Division. The two last-place teams must stay in the Combination League.
