Fabio Biondi

Fabio Biondi ( born March 15, 1961 in Palermo ) is an Italian violinist and conductor.

Life

At the age of 12 years Biondi began his career with a concert appearance with the Symphony Orchestra of the RAI. At 16, he led the Vienna Musikverein on the violin concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach. Early on, he devoted himself to historical performance practice and played on the baroque violin with the ensembles La Capella Reial de Catalunya under Jordi Savall, Musica Antiqua Wien, the Clemencic Consort, the under Seminario Musicale, La Chapelle Royale under Philippe Herreweghe and Les Musiciens du Louvre Marc Minkowski.

In 1990, Biondi, the ensemble L' Europe Galante, with which he made ​​numerous recordings and one of the leading European Baroque ensembles.

2005 Biondi was artistic director for baroque music at the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. He plays on a violin by Goffredo Cappa and another by Carlo Ferdinando Gagliano in 1766.
