Fada N'gourma
Fada N'Gourma is a city ( commune urbaine ) and the same area situated comprehensive department in the east of West African country of Burkina Faso on the road from Ouagadougou to Niamey. It is the capital of the Est region and the province Gourmand and seat of the king of Gourmantché. The area in which is divided into eleven sectors capital and the 33 associated villages 123 594 inhabitants.
Fada N'Gourma is a vibrant small town with several agencies and a hospital, a large central market and bus station. To the south are nature reserves and hunting zones.
Fada N'Gourma was founded by Diaba Lompo under the name Bingo and later also known under the name Nungu. Yendabri made it his capital. A Baobab near the royal court should bear the hoofprints of the horse should be ridden on the Yendabri according to the legend in the sky.
Culture
- The FESDIG (Festival au Dilembu Gulmu ) is a cultural festival for seven years in the village Tiantiaka in the east of Burkina Faso, 27 km from Fada N'Gourma, takes place. The festival has the objective of improving the socio -economic conditions of the environment Tiantiakas in which it draws on their cultural, artistic and agricultural potential. Initiator of the FESDIG is the association A.T.C.D. ( Todiyaba Association pour la Culture et le Développement ), based in Fada N'Gourma.
- Since 2003 there is an annual festival of Fulbekultur under the name Finatawa.
Religion
Fada N'Gourma is the seat of the Diocese of Fada N'Gourma.
