Fagerborg Church
The listed Fagerborg Kirke in Oslo district Fagerborg, located in the southwest Stensparken, was completed in 1903 and is part of the founded in 1898 Fagerborg community in the Diocese of Oslo Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway.
Building
Begun in 1901 was consecrated by Bishop Anton Christian Bang on December 22, 1903 and has seating for 480 parishioners. The three-nave church is executed by the architect's drawings Hagbarth Schytte Martin -Berg, whose design won out against 54 competitors. Interior
The interior of the church is mainly kept in the Art Nouveau style. Pulpit and altarpiece have been designed by the architect. The altar is a wooden block altar and the pulpit is made of American pine. Johan Borgerson made the carvings on the pulpit after drawings by Schytte Mountain. The stained glass windows of the k.u.k. The neo-Romanesque marble baptismal font stands on a octagonal base. Around the baptismal font there is an inscription according to Titus 3:5: " Efter sin barmhjertighet har han frelst oss ved gjenfødelsens bad" (German: " according to his mercy he saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal "). The altarpiece made by the sculptor Jo Visdal. Over the years, a number of changes have been made thereto.
The organ is next to the choir. The construction of the original organ was completed in 1903 and 1932, replaced by an organ with 39 votes and 2728 pipes. 2007, a new organ of the company Goll was inaugurated in Lucerne with 54 registers, which is among the largest of Oslo.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary in 1953, the interior of the church has been completely restored, and they got a new chandelier designed by the architect Harald Hille.
