Faiq Hasanov

Faiq Zülfüqar oglu Həsənov ( the World Chess Federation FIDE Faig Gasanov; born April 13, 1940 in Kirovabad ) is an Azerbaijani chess referee, functionary and television presenter.

Life

Həsənov, who previously worked at the Ministry of Agriculture of the AsSSR as scientific secretary, is International Referee since 1980. For the first time, he supervised an international tournament in 1964 in Baku. For chess events, where he was employed as a referee include Chess Olympiads in 1984 and 1986, title fights around the world chess championship of women and other major tournaments. During the duel between Kramnik and Topalov, which was overshadowed by the so-called toilet scandal, he belonged to the Appeals Committee.

Along with Garry Kasparov and Elmar Məhərrəmov Həsənov was one of the editors of the bilingual newspaper Schachmaty. As co -author, he wrote a number of chess books. A unique feature is its performance as a television presenter of Şahmat klubu that will be presented by him already for forty years. It is probably the oldest, still in the program located television show of its kind worldwide. It is published weekly and is broadcast by AZTV.

Həsənov who holds the office of Vice- President of the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan was awarded in 2000 for his contribution to the development of chess with the fame Order ( Şöhrət ordeni ). He is deserving athletes of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
