Fairground Attraction

Fairground Attraction was a Scottish acoustic - pop group that became known by their first hit Perfect in the spring of 1988.

Band's history and influence

After the usual start in clubs and bars they came in 1987 to RCA and released their first single Perfect in March 1988. It was a sudden success and reaching number 1 in the UK singles charts.

Their album The First of a Million Kisses was a characteristic blend of folk, jazz, country and cajun elements (all songs except Whispers wrote Nevin ). It was published in May 1988, following the success of Perfect when it entered at # 3 in the LP charts and rose to # 2 and got platinum.

Three more singles were up in early 1989 coupled out from the album: Find My Love (which reached number 7 in the UK charts ), A Smile in a Whisper and Clare.

The British Awards 1989, the group won an award for best single and Perfect as for The First of a Million Kisses as the best album.

They were also popular in other European countries and even appeared in the United States, but her biggest success outside of the United Kingdom was in Japan, where it in 1989 due to a tour that provided their only live album Live in Kawasaki Japan, 07/02/89, occurred.

In September 1989, recording their second album Ay Fond Kiss began. First there were rumors that would disconnect the group. This was confirmed in January 1990. The album and their latest single, Walking after Midnight released in May 1990.
