Faraday Medal

The Faraday Medal of the British Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE ) is an award annual award for outstanding scientific or industrial services in a technical field or for the promotion of science and technology. The prize is awarded without regard to membership of the IEE or nationality. It was donated in 1922 in memory of the 50th anniversary of the first meeting of the Society of Telegraph Engineers ( precursor of the IEE). The award is named after Michael Faraday.

The prize is awarded today (as of 2013) of the IET ( Institution of Engineering and Technology).

There is also a Faraday Medal ( IOP).
