Fast Local Internet Protocol

The Fast Local Internet Protocol ( FLIP) is a datagram service that compared to other protocols, like TCP / IP provides some additional or enhanced services such as multicast, enhanced security services and support for process migration to its users. It can send up to 1 GB datagrams.

FLIP is used for communication between the distributed CPU units of a Amoeba system.
