Fatubossa

Fatubossa ( Fatubosa ) is an East Timorese place Aldeia and Suco in the subdistrict Aileu (District Aileu ).

The place

The place is located in the north of Fatubossa Sucos, at an altitude of 1253 m. Through the town flows the Daisoli, a tributary of the Northern laclo. The village is crossed by the national road connecting the cities Aileu and Maubisse together.

The Suco

In Fatubossa 1,750 inhabitants (2010, 2004: 2,031 ). About 72 % of the population give Mambai as their native language. Nearly 37 speak Tetum Prasa. The Suco is located in the south of the sub-district Aileu and has an area of ​​29.31 km ². To the northwest lies the Suco Liurai and northeast of the Suco Lahae. In the south Fatubossa borders the district to Ainaro belonging subdistrict Maubisse with its Sucos Maubisse and Liurai. On the northern border with Liurai - Aileu the river Ormoi springs flows into the Daisoli.

Apart from the place Fatubossa on the northern border, the settlements in Suco are poorly connected to the outside world. Often they are accessible only on foot or by horse. To the west are the villages Fatubessi and Erhetu and southwest Caicasa ( Kaikasa, Caicassa ) and parts of Bere - Tai ( Beretai, Bertai ) that extends from the Nachbarsuco Liurai - Maubisse after Fatubossa. In the center of the villages are Coulau ( Kulau ) Liclaucana ( Lekuakuana, Lekilakuana ) and Hoholete. Besides Fatubossa also Fatubessi and Hoholete primary schools.

Erhetu is one of the last spiritual centers of the animistic religion Timor.

In Suco are the seven aldeias Caicasa, Coulau, Erhetu, Fatubossa, Hoholete, Liclaucana and Urhua.

History

In Fatubossa there was the end of 1979 an Indonesian camp for East Timorese should be relocated for better control of the occupiers.

During the crisis in East Timor in 1999 inhabitants of different Sucos Aileus were of the AHI militia ( Aku Hidup dengan Integrasi / Indonesia) expelled from their home The villages were systematically destroyed and nierdergebrannt the houses.
