Fatumasin

The Fatumasin ( Fatu Masin, Fantumasin ) is a mountain in Suco Leorema ( subdistrict Bazartete, Liquiçá District, East Timor ). Its height is depending on the source 1369 m or 1180 m.

The small mountain is densely wooded, the soil poor in calcium. The forest is called in Indonesian Gunung Hutan Maelulu. He belongs to a nature reserve that was declared with at least 15 protected bird species to an Important Bird Area. The reserve is 13,618 hectares and extends into the district Ermera. In addition to those at Monte Mundo Perdido and the Tatamailau, the reserve is one of the three most important orchid conservation areas of the country.
