FAX 49-69/450464 or short Fax Records is a German record label which was operated from producer Peter Kuhlmann until his death in November 2012.

The label was mainly used as a platform for Kuhlmann's own works in the fields of ambient and techno. Previously released on fax and its affiliated sub-labels, more than 500 different albums and singles. History

The label was founded in 1992 by Kuhlmann in Frankfurt. The label name represents the fax number of the contact address of the label

As the first publication appeared on 12 October 1992, the 12 " single True Colours of the eponymous House project that was besides Kuhlmann from Pascal Dardoufas and Hans Jörg Nonn. From the outset, Kuhlmann made ​​for an extremely high output of often several singles per week. After criticism of this publication strategy, among others, Sven Väth, the Kuhlmann accused, he would " destroy the music ," the frequency of releases was somewhat reduced.

In the first two years mainly appeared singles. After the release of the album Air II in 1994, the focus shifted to the production of complete albums in CD format, which were limited to 1000 copies.
