Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca

Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca ( born August 26, 1914 in Constantine Opel, now Istanbul, † October 15, 2008 in Istanbul ) was one of the most prolific Turkish poets. As the son of a cavalry officer he was first officer. After his retirement from the army he was inspector in the Ministry of Labour and opened in 1959 in Istanbul's old bookstore. Since 1970 he has worked as a freelance writer.

Fazil Hüsnü Daglarca published more than 60 collections of his poems that deal with topics such as the history of humanity and the cosmos, anti-militarism and the Turkish War of Independence. The complex work Dağlarcas has contributed significantly to the establishment of the modern Turkic. In German translation three books have been published by him: Come here at last to Anatolia ( Harran -Verlag, Berlin, 1981), bread and Dove ( Verlag Volk und Welt, Berlin, 1984), rock dove ( Union Verlag, Zurich 1999).
