FC Amberg

The FC Amberg is the football department of Turnverein 1861 Amberg from the city of Amberg in the Upper Palatinate.

History

Following the bankruptcy of Bavaria division 1 FC Amberg in summer 1995, then Fußballabeilungsleiter Werner Aichner took about 200 youth players of the club, who also played with the A and B youth in the Bayern league to TV 1861 Amberg. Two years later, the football section was renamed to FC Amberg.

From 1998 to 2003 the club reach five ascents of the A-Class to the country in league middle. After relegation in 2004 and again immediately rise of FC Amberg played from 2005 to 2011 in the national league. 2007, the team Bavarian Halle champion. After the descent 2011, the club secured in the 2011/12 season the championship in the Bezirksoberliga Oberpfalz and rose thanks to the extended climb right in the Game class reform of the Bavarian Football Association on the Bayern League North.
