FC Edmonton is a Canadian football club based in Edmonton, Alberta. Founded in 2010 and took the team from the 2011 season, his game operation in the North American Soccer League on.

History

Foundation

FC Edmonton was founded in February 2010 by the Canadians Tom and Dave Fath. In his first year Edmonton built on its administrative and sporting structures. There have been engaged and first test games organized. The first game was the club on 16 June 2010 against Montreal Impact and won 3-0. More games took place against U.S. and Canadian teams. Also matches against international opponents as the Portsmouth and CSD Colo -Colo were held.

In December 2010, the first coach of the club, Dwight Lodeweges, and his assistant to Japan changed. New coach was the Dutchman Harry Sinkgraven. End of September 2012 he was released and the end of November 2012, the Scottish-born former Canadian national team head coach Colin Miller.

First season

The first competitive match took place against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on April 9, 2011. Edmonton won in this game 2-1. Shaun Saiko scored the first goal for FC Edmonton in a competitive match.

As one of four Canadian professional football team, FC Edmonton also took part in the Canadian Championship 2011. In the first round we played against last year's champion Toronto FC. This they lost on April 27 with 0:3 and 4 May 0-1 and was eliminated.
