FC Fastav Zlín

The FC FASTAV Zlín is a Czech football club from the Moravian town of Zlín. He played until 2009 in the Gambrinus Liga, the first Czech league. It was founded in 1919 as SK Zlín.

Club history

Zlín succeeded in 1938, the promotion to the 1st League. Previously, the club had become Moravian master. He belonged to the top flight until his exclusion due to earnings manipulation in 1947, the greatest success here was the 2nd place behind Sparta Prague in the 1945/46 season. Succeeded in 1951 a return for a year. Another one-year stint gave the club in 1953, when he was awarded as the representative of light industry a starting place in the first league. However, the team was not erstligareif and dismounted than Penultimate.

It was not until 1969 reached the summit in the first league. A year later, TJ Gottwaldov sealed the biggest triumph of the club's history. After winning the Czech Cup (2-2 and 4-0 against LIAZ Jablonec ) the team also won the Czechoslovak Cup. After a 3-3 draw in the first leg against Slovan Bratislava a 0-0 draw in the return match in Gottwaldov the team decided on penalties 4-3 for itself. In Europe Cup Winners' Cup in the following season 1970/71 Gottwaldov won first against Bohemians Dublin, in the second round, the team failed just under 2-1 and 0-1 at PSV Eindhoven. At the end of the season was the last place in the first league to beech, which meant relegation. In 1973, the descent into the third league in 1981 succeeded the TJ Gottwaldov to rise again in the 2nd Division.

1993 presented the 6th place in the second league to qualify for the new Czech first league, but after only three years of Svit FC Zlín rose again. The back in the Bundesliga in 2002, in the season 2002/ 03 finished the FK Zlín seventh place, just like a year later. 2004 was the start of the club, now renamed FC Tescoma Zlín, Intertoto Cup. In the first round Zlín Myllykosken Pallo -47 beat of Finland, in the second round of the Belgian KVC Westerlo. Only extremely narrowly lost the team in the third round Atlético Madrid. After a 2:4 home defeat Zlín won 2-0 in the Spanish capital, but different on the away goals rule. In the league it was enough 2004/ 05 to a tenth place. 2005 Zlín again took part in the Intertoto Cup. After a Erstrundenerfolg over Neman Grodno Tescoma was eliminated against AA Gent. 2008/ 09 the club had as tables - 15th accept relegation from the 1st League and failed for the following season in third place just wide of the resurgence.
