FC KlaipÄ—da

The FC Klaipeda is a Lithuanian football club from Klaipeda. The young club currently playing in the II Lyga, the third Lithuanian league.

Club history

The club was founded in 2005 as FK Glestum and began its gaming operations in the third division. Two years later Glestum rose in the second division. On 19 August 2009 the club was renamed to FC Klaipeda. As a result of a restructuring of the professional leagues, the number of participants in the A Lyga increase of eight to eleven, the club handed already a fifth place to qualify for the 2010 season for the first division. There they rose in 2011 but again, after both athletic, and formally could not hold the class because you did not receive a license for 2012. It was instead demoted even in the third league.
