FC Kreuzlingen

The FC Kreuzlingen is a football club in Switzerland from the town of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau. Currently the team plays in the 2nd Interregional League, the fifth -highest league in Switzerland and is currently the bestklassierte Thurgau Football Club.

League membership

The FC Kreuzlingen played since his first league attendance in 1916 a total of 6 years in the second-highest Swiss league, 47 years in the third highest Swiss league, 44 years in the fourth-highest and 1 year in the fifth- highest Swiss league.

Stadium

The FC Kreuzlingen plays its home games on the playground harbor area on Lake Constance. The harbor area has as of May 2011 on a new small grandstand that offers standing room and 126 for the time being uncovered seats. Since 2007, a new clubhouse in the harbor area, since 2010, there are next to the main square, an artificial pitch. The port field is located right next to the Bodensee-Arena in the port of Kreuzlingen.

Achievements

1934 FC Kreuzlingen was a 3-0 success against the Étoile Carouge FC Swiss champion of the 1st League and qualified for the highest Swiss League ( National League A), however, rejected the rise of financial reasons. A year earlier the eastern Swiss champions FC Kreuzlingen was a 7-2 victory against the reserve of Grasshoppers Zurich. The greatest sporting success in the " modern era ", FC Kreuzlingen earned in the first league season 2003/ 04, where you qualified for the promotion games in the Challenge League ( second highest Swiss league ) and there narrowly failed at FC Baulmes.

In the Swiss Cup, FC Kreuzlingen was ten times for the 1/16-Finale qualify (1933, 1936, 1938, 1939, 1949, 1980, 1984, 1986, 1987, 2001). Greatest success was in the 1935/36 season to qualify for the knockout round against FC Lugano ( 1:4).

National players

Marcel Sandoz was the only player of FC Kreuzlingen in the dress of the Swiss national team. The World Cup qualifying match took place on October 29, 1933 in Bern against Romania. Sandoz was played by over 90 minutes, it remained his only use.

Fans

In Kreuzlingen has since 1997 a small fan base formed. The Fan Club " whiskey Curve" was founded by a handful FCK enthusiasts.

Since August 2010, there is a friendship with the fans of FC Singen 04, a football club from South Baden.
