FC Moscow

The FK Moscow (Russian Футбольный клуб Москва, Futbolny club Moskva ) was a football club based in the Russian capital Moscow.

The club wore out their home games at Edward Strelzow Stadium.

History

The club was founded in 1997 and was previously the following names:

  • Torpedo -SIL (1997-2002)
  • Torpedo Metallurg (2003-2004)
  • FK Moscow ( since 2004)

The club was founded by SIL automotive group as a torpedo after it consolidated his eponymous and today still bears the name Torpedo Moscow supporting team had sold at the beginning of the 1990s. Therefore, there were until 2004 two Moscow teams in the league Premjer named Torpedo to differ only by the additional name SIL or Metallurg. 2003 SIL sold the team to a metal group, so that the suffix SIL was replaced by Metallurg. After another sale, this time to the city of Moscow, the team in the summer of 2004 finally FK Moscow was.

For season 2010, the club withdrew due to lack of financial resources from the top Russian league. On 28 December 2010, the dissolution of the Club was announced.
