FC Okean Nakhodka

The Okean Nakhodka FK (Russian ФК Океан Находка ) is a Russian football club was established in 1979 from 90 km east of Vladivostok port city of Nakhodka. The current third division played in the early 1990s for two seasons in the top Russian league and was the easternmost first division of UEFA. Easternmost professional club Okean is no longer the league's competitor Sakhalin Yuzhno -Sakhalinsk, founded in 2004 is located on the east -lying island Sakhalin.

History

The club was founded in 1979 as an amateur club and took part initially only at the Regional Championship of Primorsky Krai and quickly became the dominant team with last five championships in a row. The municipality of Nakhodka then decided the club from the 1986 season for the semi-professional Russian Championship to report in the third Soviet league level 2 league. In the relay Russia zone 4 of the Club immediately reached the fifth of 15 seats, avoided relegation the following season as 14 of 15 extremely scarce. After a seventh place in 1988, succeeded to the fourth place in 1989 to qualify for the only Union-wide limited to three seasons new second league.
