FC Partizan-MTZ Minsk

Partizan Minsk (until 2009 MTZ- RIPA Minsk) is a Belarusian football club from the capital Minsk.

History

The association was created in 2002 by the merger of the FK MTZ ( Belarusian: Менскі трактарны завод " Minsk Tractor Works ") with the FC Trudovye Rezervy -RIPO. In the year it reached the summit of the third to the second Belarusian league a year later was followed by the further promotion to the top division of the country, the Wyschejschaja Liha.

After the first Erstligasaison 2004, the decline was only narrowly avoided, the team closed the seasons from 2005 to 2008 respectively between 3rd and 5 from. European Cup

The team defeated in the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2006 in the first round of the Kazakh representative Shakhtar Karaganda with 5:1 and 1:3. In the second round, both games against FK Moscow were lost with 0:2 and 0:1.

In the first qualifying round for the UEFA Cup 2008/ 09 the club met the Slovak club MŠK Žilina and retired with 2:2 and 0:1 from the competition.
