FC Schönberg 95

The FC Schönberg is a football club with about 250 members from the Mecklenburg Schoenberg.

History

The club was founded on July 1, 1995, when the football division of the TSG Schoenberg broke out. Nationally known was the FC Schönberg first time in 1998, when the club rose to the Oberliga Nordost. In this class, the association was able to keep up with the decline in the Federation League in 2005, in which, after only a year of resurgence could be celebrated.

Between 1999 and 2003, the FC Schönberg one of the top teams in the league and was several times shortly before the promotion to the Regionalliga. As the number of regional leagues was reduced from four to two in 2000, the club played in two relegation matches against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt to the last place in the double- Regional. After a 1-0 first leg success in the Schoenberger lost the return match in Thuringia with 1:4. In the final minute Enrico Neitzel met at a score of 1:3, only the crossbar, then fell in a direct return, the 1:4 for the Erfurt. A 2:3 defeat would have been enough perfecting salvors due to the away goals rule. After the championship in the NOFV- Oberliga Nord FC Schönberg the play-offs in 2003 reached again for Regional. However, towards the master of Südstaffel FC Sachsen Leipzig, the club was defeated 0-1 and 0-2 and missed the rise again. After the season 2006 / 07, in which the team had occupied the 7th place in the league, the club withdrew for financial reasons from this division and entered now in the fifth division of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. There one was in season 2007/ 08 runner-up and in the season 2008 /09 even master. On a possible resurgence in the - now fifth rate - Oberliga West (North), however, the club waived. 2013 rose Schönberger, for a waiver of the master from Sievershagen, in the Oberliga Nordost.

As a seven-time National Cup winner in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern FC Schönberg played several times in the DFB Cup. Here was the club against teams like the SV Waldhof Mannheim (1999, 0:3), Bayern Munich (2000, 0:4 ), VfB Stuttgart (2001, 2:4 ), Hamburger SV (2002, 0: 6), Borussia Moenchengladbach (2003, 0:3) or 1 FC Kaiserslautern (2005, 0:15 ) but never reach the next round. In 2012 it came to a duel against VfL Wolfsburg, they lost against the PokerStars.de - Lohmühle Stadium in Lübeck with 0:5.

The FC Schönberg plays its home games at the 6,000 spectators (of which 590 covered seats ) comprehensive Jahnstadion from. With large mobile bleachers stadium capacity to 16,000 seats is extensible.
