Federal Statistics Committee (Switzerland)

The Commission on Federal Statistics ( BStatK ) is a Swiss advisory body for the Federal Council, the Federal Statistical Office and the other federal statistics generators.

Organization

It comprises high-level representatives of the cantons and municipalities, the business community, social partners, academia, the Swiss National Bank and the Federal Administration. The Commission was constituted with the appointment of its members by the Federal Council on 10 November 1993. Your legal bases exist in the federal Statistics Act of 9 October 1992 and the Regulation of 30 June 1993 on the implementation of statistical surveys conducted by the federal government.

Assuming the Commission on Federal Statistics is the Federal Department of the Interior. It is chaired by a representative or a representative of the science and usually convened three times a year.

Functions of the Commission for the Federal Statistics

Finally, the Commission is responsible for the federal statistics to promote cooperation and coordination of official statistics producers as well as for assessing the diffusion policy in the field of statistical information. More generally, the role of the Commission on Federal Statistics is to ensure that official statistics meets the requirements of a democratic society and to help assess the future demand for statistical information.

Statistical multi-annual program

The Federal Statistical Office, in cooperation with other statistical offices of the Federation and, after consultation with interested parties for each legislative period a multiannual program (MAP ) of the statistical activities at the federal level. The multi-year program is based on the Federal Statistics Law and serves a transparent and comprehensive planning of federal statistics. It provides information on the important work of federal statistics, the respective financial and human costs of the Federation and on the planned international cooperation. There is also the possibility for Parliament to review the provided statistical work in relation to its policy objectives and to rule on.
