Fedoseevtsy

The Feodosijaner, Theodosians or Fedossejewzy (Russian Федосеевцы, scientific transliteration Fedoseevcy ) are a priest loose faith community of Old Believers from north-western Russia, according to its founder Feodosy Vasilyev ( Феодосий Васильев, Feodosiy Vasil'ev ) ( 1661-1711 ) is named and end of the 17th century was founded.

She had an uncompromising attitude towards the autocracy and the Orthodox Church and lived a strict asceticism.

In the 1820/30er years, some of the followers joined the Pormorski Tolk ( поморский толк ) and Jedinowerije at ( единоверие ). The spiritual center was for a long time in 1771 by the businessman Ilya Kowylin Alexeyevich ( 1731-1809 ) founded the Community Preobraschenskoje Cemetery in Moscow.

Feodosianer were used in the Russian province of Kaunas, Suwałki, Vilna and Vitebsk and in Riga.
