Feleknas Uca

Feleknas Uca ( born September 17, 1976 in Celle ) is a German politician (The Left ).

Life and career

The Yezidi Kurd held various offices in the PDS, it was already in 1998 a member of the National Council of Lower Saxony, co-founder of Kreisverbands Celle, contact the PDS - Europe Group for North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the Treasurer of the Europe Group.

MEP

Feleknas Uca was from 1999 to 2009 MEP for the PDS or The Left in the GUE / NGL Group. At 22, she was elected as the sixth on the list of candidates of the PDS to the EU Parliament. Commitment against female genital mutilation

As an MEP and beyond, Uca engaged in collaboration with the women's rights organization Terre des Femmes in the fight against practices of female genital mutilation.

It instructed the organization, in 2005 a publication entitled " Study on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM = Female Genital Mutilation ) " to create.
