Felicity Party

The Saadet Partisi (Eng. " Felicity Party " ) is an Islamist political party in Turkey, was established on 21 July 2001.

The party is, as well as the more moderate Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP) of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a successor to the Fazilet ( " Virtue Party " ), which was banned a day after the establishment of the SP. The chairman was Necmettin Erbakan. It is the political party of part of the Milli Görüş movement - whose German organization is under surveillance of German constitutional protection. Central leader of the party is the late former Prime Minister of Turkey, Necmettin Erbakan. The mouthpiece of the Saadet Partisi is the Milli Gazette.

The emblem of the party consists of a crescent moon and five-pointed stars out of five. The large star represents esteem, reputation and honor (Turkish: Şeref ). The two medium-sized stars stand for justice and legal awareness, welfare and recovery. The two small stars symbolize love, tolerance, brotherhood and peace, and human rights and freedoms.

Party program and ideology

In its party program defines secularism as neutrality and non-interference of the state in religious affairs. In the online edition of the Milli Gazette, one of the Saadet Partisi related Islamist newspaper that the Holocaust is denied and in the print edition of 20 November 2003 is claimed Israel would form a new Israeli government in northern Iraq and occupy the south-eastern Turkey. Election results

For the general elections on 3 October 2002, the Saadet Partisi received 2.49 percent of the votes and thus failed at the 10 percent electoral threshold. Their predecessors party had received 1999 or 15.41 percent of the vote. In regional elections in 2004, the Saadet Partisi won nationwide 3.97 percent of the vote and placed so that mayors in 12 of the 923 counties. In the parliamentary elections of 2007, the party received only 2.3 % of the votes and thus failed for the umpteenth time the feeder to the Turkish Parliament.

Islamic Holdings
