Felix Katongo

Felix Katongo ( born April 18, 1984 in Mufulira ) is a Zambian footballer, who is active as a midfielder. His older brother Chris Katongo is also a professional footballer.

Club career

Katongo began his football career at three clubs in his native Zambia. In 2005 he moved to South Africa in the Premier Soccer League to Jomo Cosmos. Played there at that time, his brother Chris, with whom he had previously between 2002 and 2004 worked at the Green Buffaloes. But while his brother was able to prevail at Jomo Cosmos, Felix was awarded after a season back to Zambia to his previous club Green Buffaloes.

In 2007 he left again the Zambian League and switched to Petro Atlético to Angola. He played as a hanging tip behind Manucho before moving to strong performances at the African Cup 2008 shortly before the end of the transfer window moved to French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennes on 31 January 2008. There, however, he could not prevail and, after an unsuccessful loan period at second division LB Châteauroux in the summer of 2009, the South African first division club Mamelodi Sundowns.

National team career

Felix Katongo won in 2003 with the Zambian U20 National Team U -20 COSAFA Cup. He was appointed national coach Kalusha Bwalya first time in the national team of Zambia 2005. There he first played in left midfield, competed around this place but soon with his former U-20 teammates Clifford Mulenga.
