Fenerbahçe Women's Volleyball

Fenerbahçe Universal Bayan voleybol Takımı (short: Fenerbahçe) is a Turkish volleyball club and represented the women's volleyball department of the sports club Fenerbahçe SK from Istanbul.

History

In 1928, the women's volleyball department of Fenerbahçe SK was founded for the first time and a year later, due to lack of opponents, resolved. In 1954, the women's volleyball department was established in cooperation with the Çamlıca High School for Girls ( Çamlıca Kız Lisesi ) again. This collaboration also included a women's basketball department. On August 24th 2011 Fenerbahçe SK announced to dissolve the sponsors and names contract with the hospital chain Acıbadem Sağlık Grubu. It is believed that the problematic relationship has led ( during the manipulation suspicion in 2011 in football ) between Fenerbahce SK and the CEO of Acıbadem Sağlık Grubu, Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, which is the Turkish Football Federation President at the same time, to terminate the contract. On October 6, 2011 gave Fenerbahçe SK and hospital chain Universal Hastaneler Grubu a cooperation known and announced a collaboration for 3 years. This cooperation also includes a renaming of the team Fenerbahçe Universal Bayan voleybol Takımı.
