Feng Office Community Edition

Feng Office (formerly: Feng Office ) is a free web-based office software suite ( online office ) with features of collaboration software, and PIM. It is available as free software under the free Affero General Public License ( AGPL ).

It offers word processing, presentation, calendar (time management with task list), e- mail, address book and project management functions ( it can be allocated among other tasks and recorded working hours and creates reports). ( Spreadsheet will soon be possible. ) In addition to the production and processing of documents it maintains, any uploaded files (including version control ).

The company also offers same commercially supervised the use of Feng Office installation on their servers as a service (Software as a Service, SaaS).

History

Feng Office has its origin at the Universidad de la República, the largest university in Uruguay. The software engineers Conrado Viña, Marcos Saiz and Ignacio de Soto developed the first prototypes in the context of their thesis. Based on the last free version of ActiveCollab software was developed, which was first published under the name of Feng Office. For editing text documents FCKeditor has been integrated.

On 16 December 2009 the company announced Feng Office, rename the software in Feng Office.
