Fenouillet, Pyrénées-Orientales

Fenouillet ( in Occitan Fenolhet, in Catalan Fenollet ) is a southern French mountain village with 85 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Orientales of the Languedoc -Roussillon region.

Geography

Fenouillet located in the Pyrenees, 43 kilometers north- west of Perpignan, the capital of the eponymous arrondissement, and 10.4 kilometers west of Saint -Paul -de- Fenouillet, the capital of the canton. History

The pagus Fenioletensis whose capital was Fenouillet was first documented in 842.
