Ferdinand, 5th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau

Ferdinand Johannes Nepomuk Joseph Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau ( born December 4, 1781 Vienna, † November 3, 1812 in Weltrus ) was a Bohemian nobleman and an Austrian officer.

Life

He was the son of Prince Joseph and his wife Maria Rosa Countess Harrach. At the age of 17 he lost his father and became Prince and Heir. The invasion of the French in 1811 led him to join the militia as a captain. Run by his battalion was given the name "Legion Archduke Charles " and was assigned to the Austrian troops operating in Bavaria. The prince fought with his battalion in the battles of Regensburg, Aspern and Wagram. Archduke Charles drew him out on the battlefield of Aspern with the Military Order of Maria Theresa Order. Prince Ferdinand Kinsky was with the Prince Franz Joseph Maximilian von Lobkowitz and Archduke Rudolf of one of the great patron of Beethoven. With them he founded the composer in 1809 a pension for life.
