Ferdinando Baldi

Ferdinando Baldi ( born May 19, 1927 in Cava de ' Tirreni, Salerno, † November 12, 2007 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Baldi had studied humanities and worked as a teacher when he started his film career through the mediation of the producer Tiziano Longo 1952; First he turned comedies and popular films. In 1960, he led, together with Richard Pottier directed the period film David and Goliath (David e Golia ) with Orson Welles. While Baldi early 1960s, especially so-called, sandals films ' turned, he joined in the following years to the genre of spaghetti westerns. He often worked with Tony Anthony, their attempts to revive the 3D movie, but failed. The last films were Baldis cheap mercenary films in the context of the Vietnam War issue; including the rare case ( Missione finale ) of a shot in North Korea film. Overall Baldi turned almost forty films 1952-1988.

Baldi was also performed under the pseudonyms Ferdy Baldwin and Ted Kaplan.
