Ferenc Keszthelyi

Ferenc Jeromos Keszthely OCist ( born March 16, 1928 in Eger, Hungary, † December 6, 2010 in Vac ) was a Hungarian Roman Catholic religious priest and bishop of Vac.

Life

Ferenc Keszthely occurred on August 29, 1946 in the Order of the Cistercians. He studied theology at the convent's College of 1946 until 1950. On August 23, 1950, he passed the solemn vows. After the dissolution of the religious orders, he completed his studies from 1950 to 1951 at the seminary in Székesfehérvár from and received on 2 April 1951, the ordination.

Keszthely was 1951-1953 Kaplan in Nagytétény, 1953-1960 in Budafok and 1960-1962 in Remetekertváros in the 2nd district of Budapest. In Tárnokliget he was vicar from 1962 to 1965 and from 1965 parish administrator and pastor from 1967. 1974 he moved to the parish in Nagytétény.

Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Keszthely 1992 Vac. He received his episcopal consecration on March 21, 1992, the Archbishop of Esztergom, László Cardinal Paskai OFM; Co-consecrators were István Seregély, Archbishop of Eger, and Izidor István Marosi, retired bishop of Vac.

Ferenc Keszthely was Provincial of the Cistercians in Hungary. His age-related retirement request, Pope John Paul II, 2003.
