Fernando Torres de Portugal y Mesía

Fernando Torres y Portugal, Count of Villar Don Pardo (* in Jaén, Spain; † after 1589 ) was a Spanish politician who until 1589 held office in 1585 as viceroy of Peru.

Torres came from the Spanish nobility and was appointed by King Philip II in 1584 to the Viceroy of Peru. 1585 he took office. His tenure was a major earthquake of 1586, which caused great destruction.

He left the port of Callao secure and renewed the equipment of the Spanish fleet in Peru. Despite these measures, the colony was suffering at this time under the raids of the English corsairs Thomas Cavendish.
