Fernsehturm Kulpenberg
The transmitter Kulpenberg is erected from 1959 to 1964 on the Kyffhaeuser located in the mountains in the district Steinthaleben Kulpenberg ( 473.4 m above sea level. NN ) 94 meter high telecommunications tower. The transmitter Kulpenberg had in GDR times in 78 meters height tower restaurant with 74 seats. He was primarily as a relay station between the station Petersberg (north of Halle ( Saale )) equipment and the transmitter chunks and island mountain. In GDR times, visited the tower about 200,000 tourists annually.
Today, the television tower Kulpenberg is used by the German radio tower GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. The site and also the transmitter itself is no longer accessible to the public.

Analogue radio (FM )

Digital radio ( DAB)
Since January 4, 2010 DAB runs in Thuringia as a stand-alone solution. Thus some transmitter sites have been shut down. On August 1, 2011, additional MDR radio programs have been posted on the ensemble. The transmission mode of the DAB block 12B ( Thuringia) was discontinued on 1 December 2011. DAB is broadcast in vertical polarization and single-frequency operation with other transmitters.
