Ferrobaires

The Unidad del Programa Ejecutora ferroviario Provincial ( UEPFP ), ( German " executive unit of the provincial railway program ") is a railway company in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires. The company advertises itself and its performance under the name Ferrobaires. The company operates numerous regional and long-distance transport from the Argentine capital Buenos Aires in the surrounding province and has its headquarters in the Plaza Constitución railway station.

History

After the Argentine government under Carlos Menem had decided to privatize the Argentine railway network, state-owned company Ferrocarriles Argentinos March 10, 1993 was dissolved. Since it was clear that a majority of train services across the country would disappear, the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires founded by decision of the Provincial Parliament, its own rail transport undertakings for January 13, 1993, to offer at least the driving performance within the province can continue. The company called Unidad del Programa Ejecutora ferroviario Provincial - known to the public under the name Ferrobaires - then took over the transport services of the state-owned company within the province.

Originally, the foundation of the company was intended transitional offer the performance, until it would be taken over by a private operator. Since this did not result, the provincial government plans a further continuous operation.

Since 2006, the transport company has to deal with numerous problems in the maintenance of the rolling stock, which resulted in many cancellations, delays and accidents. After numerous negotiations with the National Government both sides signed on 8 February 2007 an agreement to transfer its tractive in Bundesregie.Dies is not done until today, the company's problems are still not solved.

Traffic

Ferrobaires operates regional and long distance traffic on three corridors, starting at the respective terminal stations of Buenos Aires Once, Retiro ( San Martín ) and Constitución. Not all originally transmitted to the provincial routes ( via Guido Grail. ) Today, operate, including the routes to Carmen de Patagones Daireaux ( about Bolívar ) and Pinamar set.
