Ferrovie della Sardegna

The Ferrovie della Sardegna ( FdS ) is founded in 1989 as Italian narrow gauge railway company in Sardinia. In addition, the FdS also operates several bus routes. Since 2008, the company operates under the name ARST Gestione FdS srl ( German: Regional Sardinian transport operations department FdS ).

History

In 1888 the Società italiana per le could Strade Ferrate Second Aria della Sardegna ( SFSS ) take the first narrow gauge routes to Sardinia in operation. Other railway companies established in the following years, narrow-gauge railway lines and took over its operation: The Ferrovie Complementari della Sardegna ( FCS), the Società anonima Ferrovie Settentrionali Sarde ( SFSS ), the Strade Ferrate Sarde (SFS ) and the Ferrovie Meridionali Sarde (FMS ). While the FMS 1974 its railway ceased, remained only the SFS and the FCS, operated the routes. However, both companies stood since 1971 under special administration. In 1989, she merged the new FdS. 1997 FdS the Italian state railway Ferrovie dello Stato is affiliated. As of 2002, the company is now under a Government Commissioner in the Ministry of Transport. Since June 2008, belongs to the FdS Azienda Trasporti Regional Sarda ( ARST ) and trades under the name ARST Gestione FdS srl. In October 2010, the FdS was completely merged with this.
