Feulen
Feulen ( Luxembourgish Feelen ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton Diekirch.
Geographical location
The municipality is located in Feulen Ösling, the Luxembourg Ardennes.
Composition of the community
The municipality consists of the villages Feulen:
- Feulenerhecken,
- Hirtzhof,
- Hubertushof,
- Niederfeulen,
- Oberfeulen.
History
In the year 963 of the Ardennes Count Siegfried exchanged with the St. Maximin in Trier monastery lands in Viulna ( Feulen ) against the Bock promontory in the Alzette. He thus laid the foundation for the German royal house of Luxembourg and the County of Luxembourg.
