FIA World Endurance Championship

The FIA World Endurance Championship (official FIA World Endurance Championship, shortly WEC) is organized by the Automobile Club de l' Ouest endurance racing series for sports prototypes and Gran Turismo, which will be played according to the rules and guidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2012.

The racing series emerged from the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, the FIA gave from 2012 official world championship status. In the prototype class enrolled with the Audi R18 and Toyota TS030 with the two manufacturer with own factory teams, as of 2014, Porsche is in the LMP1, the highest class, go with the Porsche 919 hybrid at the start.
