Fiame Mata'afa Faumuina Mulinu'u II

Fiame Mataafa Faumuina Mulinuu II (* August 5, 1921 in Lotofaga, Iceland Upolu, Samoa, † 20 May 1975 in leprosy, Upolu Iceland ) was a politician and twice Prime Minister of Western Samoa.

He came from one of the royal families of Samoa, was the owner of the chief title " Mata'afa " and held a seat in Parliament because of his background.

Mulinuu was born on October 1, 1959 Prime Minister of New Zealand still managed UN Trust Territory of Western Samoa. On January 1, 1962, he performed this in the Independent State of Western Samoa and was therefore one of the " fathers" of the Constitution. In February 1970, Tupua Tamasese Lealofi IV succeeded him as prime minister.

In March 1973, he broke from Lealofi as Prime Minister and held that post until his death.

His daughter Fiame Naomi was appointed by Prime Minister Tofilau Eti Alesana the first female minister in May 1991.
