Fiat Strada (1999-2001)

Fiat Strada (Type 178 ) is a pickup model from Fiat. It is produced since 1999 and replaced the pickup version of the second generation of Fiorino. The Strada is based on the car Fiat Palio.

History

The Strada was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and brought in 1999 as part of the project 178 on the market.

The payload amounts to about 700 kg and the load volume about 1100 liters. In contrast to the Palio Strada with a solid rear axle is equipped with leaf springs. The Strada has the Palio as a front transverse engine. The cockpit is identical to that of the Palio, the same steering wheel and instrument cluster.

On the Security page, anti-lock brakes, airbags and FPS ( Fire Prevention System ) are available.

As motors, a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 54 kW/73 hp ( later 44 kW/60 hp ), a 1.7 -liter turbo diesel and a 1.9 -liter naturally aspirated diesel engine with swirl chamber injection may be offered in Europe. The diesel engine will be replaced later by a 1.9 -liter turbo diesel engine with common - rail injection and a little later by a 1.3-liter common-rail engine with 62 kW/84 hp ( later 70 kW/95 hp). Outside Europe are also 1,5 - and offered 1.6-liter 8v petrol engines and a 1.6 -liter 16V petrol engine.

The Strada was subjected in 2001, 2004 and 2006 facelifts.
