FIBA EuroBasket
The European Basketball Championships ( officially: Euro Basket) is organized since 1957 by FIBA Europe, the European Basketball Federation, every two years in each of the odd-numbered years ( for the ladies to 1980 in even years ).
In these tournaments, the basketball teams play in the European Championship. Apart from the competitions for men and women also European Youth Championships will be held ( in age groups U20, U18 and U16 ).
From 1935 to 1955, the World Basketball Association, the organizer. Until 1961, Egypt and Lebanon were eligible for lack of continental basketball organization. Israel belongs to political reasons at the European Association.
