Fibrocyte

Fibrocytes are fixed ( immobile ) cells of connective tissue with a long oval nucleus and long processes. These connect the cells to one another and form a three dimensional structure which stabilizes the otherwise loose connective tissue. The fibrocytes themselves to rest, however: the formation of intercellular perform the fibroblasts than their mobile precursor. If required, so scarring, the fibrocytes may, however, share, and thus form new fibroblasts.
