Fibrous papule of the nose

A fibrous Nasenpapel (English fibrous papule of the nose; ICD -O 8724 / 0) is a benign tissue formation ( neoplasia), which typically forms at the tip of the nose or a nose. Less common are localizations of fibrous papule outside the nose area. In such cases, one speaks of a fibrous Gesichtspapel.

Description and Diagnosis

In the fibrous Nasenpapel is a hamartoma ( a benign tumor-like tissue malformation ), which usually preferred in adults, regardless of age, occurs. But there are also described cases in children aged four years. The size of the solid and sharply defined papule ( nodule ) usually varies between 1 to 5 mm in diameter. It is skin-colored or slightly reddish and smooth on the surface. Fibrous Nasenpapel form mainly towards the nostrils, the nostrils furrow or at the tip of the nose and are asymptomatic. They occur singly ( solitary ) and remain stationary. And the size may remain constant for many years.

Fibrinstabilisierende of Factor XIIIa, a blood coagulation factor in the formation of a fibrous Nasenpapel plays an important role. It is assumed that a fibrous Nasenpapel is a variant of Angiofibroms caused by dermal Dendrozyten. These cells are positive factor XIIIa. Occasionally, they also contain multinukläre giant cells. Histologically, the fibrous Nasenpapel be divided into different variants. Thus, there are clear cell fibrous, inflammatory fibrous, epithelioid - fibrous, pigmented fibrous and pleiomorphic - fibrous variants.

Under certain circumstances it may be necessary for distinguishing between a basal cell carcinoma biopsy.

Therapy

Fibrous Nasenpapel can be excised surgically by a Flachexzision. The papule is removed at the level of papillary dermis with a tangential section. An alternative is to remove a carbon dioxide gas laser.
