FICORA

The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority ( Finnish Viestintävirasto ), short FICORA is the Finnish regulatory authority for the Finnish telecommunications and postal market. It has its headquarters in Helsinki. The FICORA is a member of management of the CEPT.

According to the 2010 annual report FICORA had 234 permanent employees. Director-General its draft is Asta Sihvonen - Punkka.

The regulatory objectives are:

  • Sufficient and trouble-free infrastructure resources for electronic communications
  • Effective functioning telecommunications markets
  • High quality of communications services
  • A variety of electronic media

When regulating activity FICORA considered increasingly environmental issues.
